This is an interesting case: Purina v. Blue Buffalo. Purina says the ingredients in Blue buffalo are not what they are claimed to be; Blue buffalo counters with a charge of defamation.

All of which begs the question: why did Purina choose Blue Buffalo to attack? Are they threatened by this brand and if so, why?

There is more going on here than just name calling.
