Admit it. You've cooked for your dogs. Maybe not to the extent that the chefs in our book have, but a little chicken soup here, a little beef burgundy there...we get it. Well guess what? It's safe to come out from behind the apron and share your recipes with us. After all, 30 great chefs did. You tell us about your culinary canine, and we'll tell you about ours and the ones we meet along the way. Oh, and don't forget to buy the book.

The Poop on Minutes
Ok, I know its in Spanish but the general idea is free WIFI for dog poop. Yup. The brainchild of Mexican Internet company Terra, I guarantee you'll get the concept even if you don't speak Spanish.
Love the ice cream cone segment.

Cute Enough to Eat?
The above is the creation of British bakers and design duo, Rich and Eddie LeBeau, whose new company (in the UK, unfortunately) bakes a likeness of your pup into a delicious cake!
"At Cake Doggy Dog we say no to novelty; we create cakes, handcrafted at every stage, that are as stimulating to the eye as they are to the taste buds.
“Whether it's a cake that looks so much like your dog you're afraid it'll lick your face - or cupcakes and cake pops that are so pretty you'll want to decorate your home with them, we ensure all our creations are a visual delight and a tasty treat."
"The strangest request we've had so far is a wolf in sheep's clothing cake. We haven't made it yet, but we are definitely going to give it a go at some point!' Eddie told HuffPost Lifestyle.
All of this sugar does not come cheap. The cakes start at about 300 British pounds--about $500 plus dollars--and they take 10-12 hours to create. No word yet on whether they can be shipped long distances.
See some more creations here.

Clever Cat
A lot of people have asked us if there is a cookbook for cats in the wings. Well, no. One reason is that feeding cats is a lot more complicated than feeding dogs and the other reason is that they really don't need a cookbook as the above video demonstrates. They can get their own supper!

Shelter Me
A great new PBS series that premieres in May. Check your local listings and don't forget the tissues. These stories will warm your heart and maybe even loosen those tear ducts, in a good way.

Finding Knuckles
Now that is some custody battle.
Actually more and more lawyers are becoming specialists in pet law but their fees are high--just like all legal fees. The intention is not to encourage you to support this battle--just to inform you about the lengths to which some pet owners are willing to go.
And who's to say we wouldn't do the same thing?

Food Contraband
You can bring The Culinary Canine in book form through customs but not the ingredients in it. If you do, and come through Kennedy International, chances are, Izzy the beagle will sniff you out!

DC Top Dogs
These guys get my vote even if their owners might not! All that barking in Washington is not coming from the elected officials on Capital Hill!

Top 5 Pet Poisons Lurking in Your Purse
Here are 5 things your dog should never eat, and many of them just might be found in your purse. Keep those satchels zipped if you transport any of the following:
1. Sugarless gum or mints: xylitol is a sweetener that is toxic to dogs. If your dog does ingest some, get him/her to the vet ASAP.
2. Human medications--Tylenol, Advil or any of the over the counter painkillers that we might carry with us. A dog can gnaw through those pill bottles pretty quickly and are attracted to the shake, rattle and roll aspect of what seems to be a great toy. Again a trip to the vet is crucial if you find a gnawed bottle.
3. Asthma inhalers--this one is my purse and I never knew it could be life threatening to pets. Paws off!
4. Cigarettes--goes without saying but you shouldn't have these anyway. Toxic to everyone.
5. Hand sanitizer. Again, always in my bag but the alcohol can be deadly to pets.
